History of KAMSS

The Kansas Association began in partnership with the state of Missouri as a 2-state association.  During that time, the Midwest Association* (currently Kansas City Chapter) was formed.  In 1983, several medical staff coordinators met in Wichita to discuss forming a Southern Chapter similar to the Midwest Association.   Since it’s inception, the Southern Chapter generated much interest and grew to include most of the state of Kansas, excluding Kansas City.  In 1989, the state of Kansas** formed its own Association, the Kansas Association of Medical Staff Services (KAMSS), and the Southern Chapter was disbanded.  The Kansas City Chapter is still affiliated with the Missouri State Associations.

KAMSS is an affiliated organization with the Kansas Hospital Association and National Association Medical Staff Services
